International Freight
Forwarding
As an International Freight Forwarder we are able to handle your cargo Worldwide via all modes of transport including Air, Sea, Road and Rail for both Import and Export. We are full trading members of the British International Freight Association, which means we have met their criteria to ensure your freight is dealt with in the most professional manner.
We firmly believe that you will find our pricing policy attractive. In addition to Manufacturing clients, many Freight Forwarders also utilise our extremely competitive rates and services on a strictly neutral basis. This gives us a larger than usual buying presence in the market place allowing us to ensure that highly competitive rates can be offered.
Banking Services are available to all of our clients. Great care is taken in the preparation of documentation to ensure that all Letters of Credit are negotiated smoothly. Invoices, Packing Lists, Vessel Certificates & Blacklists and Consular documents are all handled with expert knowledge, drawing on many years of experience. Obviously, the earlier we are involved and given sight of a Letter of Credit, the easier it is for us to identify possible problem areas and advise how best to proceed to make the final negotiation as smooth as possible.
Insurance
With the rescinding of the marine insurance element of the European Directive on Insurance Mediation, W M Shipping Ltd is now able, once more, to offer transit insurance on cargoes shipped by any mode, underwritten by the Aviva group of companies.
Over the last couple of years, while the Directive was in place, only forwarders regulated and affiliated to the FSA were able to offer transit insurance cover, with the result that much cargo was actually moving uninsured, with exporters believing that in the worst case scenario, the carrier’s liability cover would be adequate. Unfortunately, for some, they discovered that the liability cover of the carrier was indeed, wholly inadequate!
All cargoes, moving by air, sea or road (or a combination of each) should be adequately insured to take into account the vagaries and risks involved with the transport mode selected, and in this regard, we would always recommend that the exporter ensures he has the correct cover in place prior to physically moving his goods. If assistance or advice is needed in regard to this important facet of international trade, please contact us at any time.
